Bioinformatics for human diseases

The research area's activities focus on the development and application of bioinformatics and bio-computational tools for the study of oncological diseases, food intolerances, and structural and functional aspects of molecules of biomedical and biotechnology interest. The development of new technologies and their application not only to biomedical research but also in the field of clinical analysis makes the intervention of bioinformatics indispensable when analyzing and managing the amount of data available, but also in order to define new strategies for analysis, suitable to meet the new demands of research and medicine. The integration of existing resources and new bioinformatics tools will make the development of these new strategies possible. The collaboration of several groups involved in biomedical research ill make the assessment of bioinformatics solutions possible, through their application to problems that exist and new ones that are continually emerging. The expected results include, in addition to scientific publications, new bioinformatics tools and new approaches to the analysis of experimental and clinical data.
