Methods of bioinformatics and clinical data integration in e-Health

With the advent of genetic testing in clinical practice has become essential the integration of Bioinformatics data in the patient's clinical folder.

In this sector CNR, especially in collaboration with the Medicine Department, has considerable possibilities in developing competences in the field of Electronics Health to promote the solution of social and health critical problems of the territory and of the Italian population, developing different medical information programs and actively participating to the implementation of developing levels for the interaction, with each grade and level, of sanitary structures.

To meet the new genetics knowledge in the field you must embark on a new phase in which the integration, implementation, dissemination and knowledge of personal genetics data recover a more appropriate reflection in the e-Health services.

In these areas different researchers of the present Bioinformatics project actively participate to different International projects, like GALEN (semantic analysis and terminology servers), IREP (protocols representation), TOMELO (sinergy between information models, terminology models, health records), C-CARE (Continuity of care based on structured synthesis of patient's folder), WIDENET (electronic clinical folder promotion), e-Health ERA (detection, comparison and classification of roadmaps on e-Health, with the 25 European Ministries of Health), RIDE (semantic interoperability, with different initiatives at a National and Regional level). Particular importance is given to the SYMBIOMATICS project, finalized on the construction of the roadmap between Bioinformatics and Medical Information.
