General Goals

The activity in Bioinformatics aims to provide appropriate tools that allow to:

• Establish an effective public-private cooperation between national and international researchers communities.
• Developing a network of specific interdepartmental skills able to tackle major projects, in which the CNR can offer a capacity of professionalism of exceptional technological and scientific value.
• Allowing a constant updating of knowledge in a highly innovative sector as Bioinformatics applied to Genomics and Proteomics analysis.
• Stimulate the growth of new enterprises in Bioinformatics.
• Providing a platform to facilitate the formation of new interdisciplinary bioinformatics profiles.
• Develop the coordination capacity of activities able to rationalise the use of technological and tool sources.
• Form a Joint Research Unit as an organized partner able to participate in European projects and international partnerships.
• Participate in committees for the standardization and promotion of legislation in this area.
• Stimulate the collaboration with Local Agencies, Councils, Regions, Hospitals and Industries.
• Stimulate the exchange of researchers between the various laboratories in Italy and abroad.
